Your Child’s First Visit – St. Catharines, ON

First Impressions are Crucial to Us

Thank you for choosing St. Catharines' pediatric dental office, Coral Kids Dentistry & Braces as your child’s dental home. As your child’s entrusted dental specialists, we will help establish a lifetime of good oral health habits, foster guidance for potential and anticipated dental issues as they grow, and provide preventive and urgent dental care as well as overall oral health care.

During your child’s initial visit, we begin creating a rapport with them (and of course you!) based on trust. Here they will learn that we care about them, are trustworthy and only want the best for them and their overall health.

As children dental specialists, we understand that visiting the dentist can be stressful. We want you to know that we are here to help and are fully trained to assist your child every step of the way. With that, we also know that as a parent you may feel anxious as well, and that’s okay too. Our entire staff is here to help you ensure your child has the most comfortable and stress-free appointment possible.

During the appointment with us, our St. Catharines pediatric dental specialists will not only provide a cavity assessment to determine whether or not there are any present issues or dental decay. We will also provide you with oral hygiene instructions as well as tips regarding healthy eating and habits such as thumb sucking or soother use in young children.

New Experience

Coral Kids Dentistry & Braces encourages families with children that are a little unsure about visiting the dentist for the first time to come in for a dental office tour. Please feel free to stop by our dental office at any time for a complimentary tour to get acquainted with our dental office and staff. We cannot wait to meet you! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to answer them.

We ask that you please fill out and submit all of the required electronic forms and paperwork prior to your appointment. It is also helpful to bring any information from previous dental appointments so that we can assess any concerns you may have regarding your child’s teeth.

We welcome all insurance types as well as the Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO) Program, as we believe that all children deserve the absolute best oral health care possible.

Whether this is your child’s first-ever dental appointment, you are new to the area and require a new dentist for your child, or are being referred to us from a family dentist, we want you to know that we will always have your child’s best interest in mind. We will work with you to create a plan that is best suited to your child and provide you with all of the information and options available to ensure you are able to make the best choices for their oral health and development.

We believe that every patient requires a unique treatment plan, which is why we will discuss the frequency of recall visits, fluoride requirements as well as digital dental imaging (X-rays) that will most benefit your child.

One of the options that we specialize in is sedation. We will gladly speak to you about all of the different options of sedation we offer, for both regular cleanings and checkups as well as for more difficult and lengthy dental procedures.

Tweens and Teens

Coral Kids Dentistry & Braces specialists also understand how to address the importance of dental care to tweens and teenagers alike. We will work with your children to encourage life-long skills and a positive attitude toward dental care, and oral health care as a whole. It is at this point that we suggest you allow your child to come to appointments on their own to encourage responsibility. This helps to grow the relationship between themselves and our doctors and staff members.

In addition to the regular dental services all children and adults require, this age group also has other concerns they want to address including the aesthetics of their teeth, otherwise known as orthodontic care.

This age group is busier than ever, however it is still vital they continue to maintain the health and overall care of their teeth by flossing and brushing regularly.
